I rarely miss a spring trip to the RSPB reserve at Frampton Marsh, Lincolnshire. As I have said before, this is one of my favourite reserves. Unfortuantely today, Sunday 17th May 2014, it was a little quiet, with yesterdays Temminck's Stint seemingly to have gone. We did find three Mediterranean Gull, single Little Gull, a Little Stint and a Drake Garganey. Also a Pink-footed Goose and small numbers of Brent Geese were still about. Several Hairy Dragonfly on the wing and on the butterfly front, Small Heath, Orange-tip, Speckled Wood, Peacock, Small Tortoiseshell, Small White and Large White. A Northern "Greenland Type" Wheatear, plenty of very bright Ringed Plover, possibly of the Tundra race, a Ruff, 20 plus Little Egret and a few Black-tailed Godwit.
Otherwise the usual stuff one would expect to see here at this time of year.
