Fox Moth – Lasiocampidae – Lasiocampinae – Macrothylacia rubi – colour code • STATUS – A resident, widely distributed & locally abundant on the moorlands of North Derbyshire. The adult moths are rarely seen, males fly by day and sometimes come to light. ID POINTERS – The male moth is richly coloured red-brown with diagnostic white parallel lines across the forewing. DERBYSHIRE MACRO MOTHS – Part 2 – Noctuidae – Nolida In August 2023, I finally completed a list of the Macro Moths that have been recorded in Derbyshire. Based on current available data at the time, and along with help from DANES, (Derbyshire and Notts Entomological Society), and other local moth recorders, a list has finally been agreed upon.
