Fox Moth – Lasiocampidae – Lasiocampinae – Macrothylacia rubi – colour code •   STATUS – A resident, widely distributed & locally abundant on the moorlands of North Derbyshire.  The adult moths are rarely seen, males fly by day and sometimes come to light.   ID POINTERS – The male moth is richly coloured red-brown with diagnostic white parallel lines across  the forewing.
