A Black Lark in Anglesey – 3rd June 2003

A crippling bird – An adult male Black Lark Melanocorypha yeltoniensis, a first record for Britain, found on South Stack, Anglesey

Note the large ivory coloured bill and the thick-set and heavy appearance. Also not the silvery-white fringes to feathers on mantle and wing coverts. Long legs and brown tones to the flight feathers.
