After a week with the flu, a trip to India and various other issues, at last a day out birding. A Glossy Ibis has been showing really well at a riding stables at Brownhills in the West Midlands and a drake Lesser Scaup settled down at Tittesworth Reservoir in North Staffordshire. So a few birds to go and look at. The Glossy Ibis was ridiculously oblivious to people and was showing really well. All we needed was some sunshine to show off the beautiful colours of this birds plumage. Patience was needed and the sun eventually appeared.
The drake Lesser Scaup was on view at Tittesworth Reservoir, along with a couple of Greater Scaup, with several Lesser Redpoll and a Brambling around the feeders.
Finishing off the day at nearby Swallowmoss, on the Staffordshire Moors for the Hen Harrier roost. One "Ringtail" appeared in the late afternoon. Year list moves on to 87
