Black-browed Albatross

During late June 2021, the RSPB reserve at Bempton Cliffs in Yorkshire was graced by the arrival of an adult Black-browed Albatross. Most likely to be the bird that very briefly visited the same site, around the same time last year (2020).

I had never seen this species in Britain before and managed to see it on the 30th June 2021, obtaining a few images as it briefly, but very quickly, flew right by me as I was standing on the New Roll-up view point, overlooking Staple Newk. A picture appears below taken on the 4th August 2021.

A moment in my lifetime of birding that I won’t forget. I’ve re-processed a few of my images using some revised software techniques and the images, IMO, seem to be much better than the ones I previously posted.
