Local Bramblings

Sunday morning and I was up early to meet up with RichardP. We had decided to try and photograph some Brambling and Siskin at a local South Derbyshire country park. We were not disappointed and in glorious sunshine, there was plenty of activity. We had around half a dozen Brambling, including several moulting males. Only a single Siskin and Lesser Redpoll, plenty of Goldfinch, Chaffinch, Greenfinch and several Great Spotted Woodpecker. A Sparrowhawk kept buzzing around but fortunately didn’t take anything.

A couple of year ticks and my list is now on 125. About on a par with 2015 at this time of year. I’ve not been to Norfolk yet!
