Still waiting for Spring

Where are all the spring migrtants? This is one of the latest Springs I have known. Usually I have seen numerous Sand Martin & Swallow by now and even the odd Willow Warbler. Nothing yet and it is still very cold with a really raw easterly wind blowing almost continuously. The temperature managed to get to 10 degrees today ( 7th April) and I say my first butterfly from the car window. Probably a Small Tortoiseshell. I've not seen a queen Bumble Bee yet though?

A morning at Fairburn Ings RSPB Reserve, South Yorkshire, with the idea of trying to photograph Brambling that had been visiting a feeding station. We only saw one and that was a very brief visit to the feeders. Still managed a few photos of common stuff and was able to test out my new Canon 400 f5.6 lens.
