A Mixed Bag

Saturday 23rd April 2016 turned out to be a mixed bag of birds. We headed off for Spurn in the hope of finding something. All we found was cold and windy weather but the sun was shining. After a long walk out to Sammy’s from the Crown and Anchor, we managed to find a couple of male Ring Ouzel, a stunning male Yellow Wagtail and a few Wheatear, Willow Warbler and Chiffchaff. A nice pint of Timmy Taylor’s, Sandwiches and Chips at the Crown and Anchor, rounded off our trip to Spurn. We called in at North Cave Wetlands, before we headed back into Derbyshire, for the Dotterel, near Ashover. Finishing off at Ogston Reservoir for an unseasonal Jack Snipe. My year list moves on to 170.
